Dear Victoria bridge player,
Like me, you have probably received an email or three concerning Sorry, Partner, a very entertaining and informative bridge podcast.
And perhaps, like me, you had yet not found the time to take a listen, or were not quite sure how to go about it.
Well let me tell you it’s definitely worth your while. The latest episode featuring an interview with Jeff Meckstroth is dynamite. Not only does he give great bidding advice but you’ll find out the shocking truth regarding the demise of the famed Meckwell partnership.
Now if you’re someone in my demographic (over 75), you might not be too familiar with this newfangled podcast thing. Relax, it’s very easy. If you have a tablet, computer or smartphone, you can get set up in no time. Better still, you can listen to it in your car during those long drives to our far-flung local clubs.
If you need them, you’ll find some instructions on listening to podcasts here.

p.s. I always try to post interesting stuff on the website but rarely get feedback, so it’s hard to tell if anyone actually reads it or finds it useful. Please help me gauge interest by leaving a short comment. Just click on the comment bubble near the top of this article. It looks like this:
I agree with your comments about the podcast. There is 10 minutes of kibitzing at the beginning and an interview with someone new each podcast. Larry Cohen was on awhile ago and Barbara Seagram recently.
Thank you, JP. I really enjoyed listening to Meckstroth. You do a great job in looking for entertaining topics to keep bridge interesting for us. Meckstroth felt very strongly that ACBL should promote the game more and your attempts to do this locally are really important.
Thanks JP, will definitely listen to it! And thanks for putting together this newsletter. Would also like to hear of club news here, or is there another forum for that?
Hi Margot,
Thanks for your comment. I do have room on the website for club news. In fact, I have asked club owners several times if they had news they’d like to see posted, but never received any reply. Just send any club news to me at webmaster@bridgevictoria.ca.
Thanks,
JP
Thanks for all your time and effort in putting the newsletter together. I do enjoy reading it. I did not see anything about the podcast so I am so glad you included it in this newsletter. It was awesome!
Thanks for the scoop, JP I will check it out.
Thanks for this JP. I did not get this email and will be interested in attempting to get to the podcast.
Thanks JP. After you & Madeleine mentioned it yesterday, I tuned in for my early morning walk – another crazy old lady walking down the street laughing to herself!
Hahaha JP that’s a pretty good joke about your age. Have you even turned 60 yet?
