Ten Victoria area players traveled up-island to play in the Campbell River New Year Sectional (Jan 12-14).
Some were very successful:
- Holly Boudreau playing with polymath Margaret Skinner came in first in B and C in the Friday games, giving Holly enough silver for her Life Master!
- Kirk Homis and Virginia Youens were second overall on Friday.
- On Saturday, Ernie Tradewell and Daniel Lyder were the overall winners of the 2-session pairs game.
- Holly and Margaret again got first place overall in B and C in the Saturday events. Damn, these girls are good!

Campbell River is a very friendly place. Everyone appreciated the great hospitality provided by the tournament organizers even if it means being on a diet for the next month or so.
Many of us will surely be back next year.
