An introduction to duplicate bridge for social bridge players.
Every week we offer a gentle, friendly game for social bridge players to learn the ins and outs of duplicate.
With volunteers on hand to help, we guide players through all the particularities of duplicate: bidding boxes, pre-dealt hands, alertable bids, scoring, and most of all the approach to competitive bridge where you’re playing against the room. It’s fun and encouraging.
And yes, talking is allowed! Just not about your hand when you’re bidding 🙂
If you’re curious or interested, please call Jill (250-686-4747) or just turn up at Monterey Rec Centre, any Tuesday, alone or with a partner.
Effective January 16, we are making a change to the rate structure. New players will pay half price for their first six games. If they enjoy the game and decide to continue, they will then pay the full rate ($10). Register in the Dogwood Room with a bridge ticket purchased at the reception, from 11:30.
Play is from noon to 3:30-ish. Sometimes there will be a brief bridge lesson before the game.
