AGM 2022

Thank you for your positive response! We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

As you know, this year’s AGM will be held on Sunday, February 27 at 3 pm via Zoom. The meeting is open to all members in good standing of Unit 431, including yourself, of course.

I will be sending you the clickable link to the meeting (please click on it 5-10 minutes before the 3 pm start on Sunday Feb 27).

To do that, I require your email. Please enter it in the form below.

I understand that not all our members are familiar with using Zoom. Don’t worry, it’s very easy! And should you require help, I’ll be happy to give you some initial guidance. Just email me at webmaster@bridgevictoria.ca within the next few days.

Here are a couple of tips to make your experience more enjoyable:

⇒ Make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed on your device (computer, tablet, …) You will need it to be able to vote. Just go to zoom.us/download and click on the blue button to download the current version of “Zoom Client for Meetings”.

⇒ During the meeting, when you wish to talk, first “raise your hand” to get the Chair’s attention. The handy shortcut for this is Alt-Y (Windows) or Option-Y (Mac). If you’re using a iPhone or iPad, have a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIdodM2dvxA&t=327s

DO post your convention card – it’s mandatory!
DO be ready to bid and play when it’s your turn.
DO make your bids and plays in an even tempo; avoid hesitations; be consistently deliberate in your bidding and play.
If you need to leave table momentarily, DO tell partner and opps by typing “brb” in chat window.
DO alert and announce all bids that require an action.
DO explain alert promptly and clearly when requested by opps.
DO not use chat window for game-related information (such as alerts).
DO call the director (via button) when an infraction occurs.
DO compliment partner (or opps!) on good play after the hand is finished.
DO observe the time allotted for the play of each round and be prepared to make a concerted effort to catch up if you have fallen behind, regardless of the reason for the lateness.
